Rachel grew up in Montana and eventually moved to Kansas to be closer to family after they moved here. Rachel transferred from the University of Montana and eventually graduated in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Washburn University in Topeka. After several years working in healthcare observing the inequities and hardships families can face, Rachel went back to school at the University of Kansas to pursue a master’s degree in Social Work with a focus geared toward clinical social work. Rachel is expected to graduate in May of 2023. Rachel has various interests and has thoroughly enjoyed working with families and children at The Layne Project. Rachel’s plans to be certified in mediation and trauma therapy and to pursue her clinical licensure.
