Rae realized her passion for social work when she was a sophomore in college studying nursing. Rae earned her Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Washburn University in 2012. During her time in college, she worked with child protective services and continued after graduation in her first role as a full-time social worker at The Department for Children and Families. There, Rae conducted investigations of allegations of child abuse/neglect for 6 years and adult abuse/neglect for 1.5 years. That work helped Rae build a strong foundation and love of the social work field. Rae went on to further her experience and returned to school to obtain her master’s degree in 2021. Rae is currently pursuing therapy and plans to earn her Licensed Specialist Clinical Social worker title in the coming years. Rae hopes to continue to create change and provide beneficial guidance to families so that they may feel empowered to advocate for themselves and their communities. When Rae isn’t not working, she enjoys spending time with her family.
Fun Fact: Rae graduated high school and started college when she was 16 years old.
