Rosie began her career in education, advocating for Migrant families in KCK Public Schools. Later, Rosie transferred to the district’s Truancy Program and rebranded it as Attend to Achieve (A2A). There Rosie worked to limit barriers and implement necessary interventions to help students succeed and attend school regularly. Rosie finished her time with KCKPS as Coordinator of Student Services. Rosie is currently the Vice President for Heartland 180’s board of directors. A a board member of Jenga Klub. Jenga Klub helps parents and youth in Wyandotte County through Social Emotional Learning and relationship building. Rosie has a degree in Spanish and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Kansas. Rosie is a proud Jayhawk. Rock Chalk!!
Fun Fact: Rosie moved to the US at the age of 13 not knowing any English. Life presented Rosie and her family with many challenges, but through this she learned the value of education. Rosie is the first in her family to graduate from high school and college.
