Facilitating Cooperative Parenting
Cooperative parenting is not an innate skill – it takes commitment. As a CDC Certified Divorce Coach®, Trina Nudson,CDC® helps teach parents who find themselves in high-conflict coparenting relationships the skills to effectively co-parent and maintain the focus on the best interests of the children. Working in partnership with Trina, parents gain conflict resolution skills, identify his/her contribution to conflict while increasing impulse control, and better understand the impact of parental conflict on their child’s development. As a result, parents are better able to successfully shift their roles from former spouses to effective co-parents.
New Ways for Families
New Ways for Families (NWFF) is a skills training method for separated or divorced parents designed to reduce the impact of conflict on children, reduce parent stress levels, bring some calm to potentially high-conflict situations, and teach negotiation and decision-making skills. Parents learn and practice co-parenting skills to manage their upset emotions, think flexibly, use moderate behavior (in front of each other and their children), communicate more effectively, and reduce blaming the other parent.
Trina Nudson, CDC® is a certified NWFF coach who works with parents to reinforce and strengthen the co-parenting skills that are learned in the 12-session class.
